Why it is used
A small rectangle from the original IAB universal ad package, designed for dense editorial layouts where several units share a column. It occasionally survives in long-standing news and directory templates that were built around it and never re-specified.
What to watch for
Legacy in practice, with very thin demand. Not worth building a placement around today.
File weight for standard display is commonly specified at around 150 KB initial load, but publisher specs vary and the figure that governs is always the one written into the insertion order. Check it before trafficking rather than after a creative is rejected.
